Kyutaro is a samurai who was once feared. However, after losing his position, he runs out of money and lives alone away from his family, but Kyutaro doesn’t know how to earn money without using his sword…

One day, Kyutaro is offered a job of killing a supposed demon cat. Upon meeting the cat though, he finds himself unable to go through with the task and instead adopts it, naming it Tamanojo. As Kyutaro navigates his new life with Tamanojo, he encounters various comedic and heartwarming situations. The film beautifully blends elements of comedy and historical drama, highlighting the unique bond between a samurai and his feline friend.
